About the Program

Experiencing The Connection Vs Copying A Movement

Have you ever felt like you are trying to copy an alignment instead of experiencing how the movement feels right within your own body when you attend an exercise class, and as result felt disconnected?

The 5 Day Return to Life program originated from an observation of what has been the one thing that consistently stood out, made a difference and drove positive changes in clients that I have worked with, and that one thing is Embodiment.

We are all different and have different bodies. When clients have an understanding of where bones and muscles are located and feel how they connect to create efficient movement within their own bodies, that is when they make the most progress and enjoy a positive movement experience.

As a result, I decided to create this 5-Day program as an introduction to Mindful Movement to help you connect with your own body, and apply the knowledge to Pilates and movement.

The definition of Embody based on the Merriam-Webster dictionary is “to make concrete and perceptible”. That is the goal of the program.

When we apply that to movement, it changes the conceptual instructions for the movement that you are following into an actual experience that feels right within your own body.

Over the course of the 5 days, we will focus on a different part of the body each day, feel where the related bones and muscles are located, and tune in to how each movement feels within our own body. Often, it can be the same movement, but by shifting the focus on a different part of the body, it may give you a different perspective, and experience.

Movement of the body in real life of course does not happen in isolation. In fact, it is not how movement works. It is meant to be a full body, integrated and connected experience, which is why on Day 5, we will end with an integrated full body movement class.

The goal is to empower you to feel confident to move in a pain-free manner and enjoy the movement experience.

Movement is life. Movement drives change. You want the process to feel easy, smooth, energizing, and help you show up in life positively.
